Tax help built around your situation

Individuals, families & W-2 employees

Preparation of individual income tax returns using your wage, income and household records. We review filing information, dependents, withholding and potentially applicable credits and deductions based on the documentation you provide. Bring all income forms, even if you have more than one job.

Self-employed workers & 1099 income

Support for independent contractors, freelancers and gig workers. We organize business income and expense information, including income not reported on a 1099, and review the records needed for your return. Bring payment-platform reports, receipts, mileage records and prior returns where applicable.

Business returns

Direct business tax preparation, with the filing scope confirmed after reviewing the business structure, tax classification and records. An LLC does not have one universal tax return. We identify the records needed, review bookkeeping readiness and discuss applicable federal and state filing needs before accepting the work.

Prior-year returns

Preparation of outstanding returns using the forms and rules for the relevant year. We help identify missing documents and organize a year-by-year filing workflow. Filing methods and available records vary by year; we do not promise that older returns can always be filed electronically.

Amended returns

Review of changes to an already-filed return and preparation of an amendment when appropriate. Bring the original return, new or corrected forms, and related notices. Refund eligibility, deadlines and processing depend on the circumstances; an amendment does not guarantee a refund.

Extensions

Help preparing an applicable extension request and organizing the information needed to estimate a payment. An extension generally gives more time to file, not more time to pay. Contact us before the applicable deadline so we can review the request and any payment needs.

Estimated payments

Help reviewing estimated tax needs for income without enough withholding, preparing estimates and organizing payment records and reminders. Amounts depend on your income and situation and may need adjustment during the year. Payments go to the appropriate tax agency.

Year-round organization & support

Support beyond the filing appointment: income and expense organization, bookkeeping coordination, document checklists and preparation for the next tax season. For tax notices, we can help organize records and review next steps within our authorization. Attorney, CPA or enrolled-agent representation is a separate service when required.

How your tax appointment works

  1. Tell us what you need

Share the tax year, whether the return is personal or business, and any notices or deadlines. We confirm whether the matter fits our service scope.

  2. Confirm the scope and price

We review the complexity and missing records, then explain the service charge and next steps. Tax owed and third-party costs are separate from DocuTrust’s preparation fee.

  3. Prepare, review and file

We prepare the return from your records and review it with you before authorized submission. Filing method depends on eligibility and the tax year. Keep copies of your return and submission confirmation.

What to gather before your appointment

Use the appointment form to tell us what you need. Do not enter Social Security numbers, bank details or upload tax documents through general contact messages. We will coordinate how to share records.

Questions about tax preparation

Does DocuTrust prepare taxes directly?

Yes. Tax preparation is provided directly by DocuTrust, in English and Spanish. The scope of each personal or business matter is confirmed during intake.

Do Florida residents file a Florida personal income tax return?

Florida does not impose a personal income tax. Federal filing requirements still apply, and another state’s return may be relevant if you worked, lived or earned income there. Businesses may have separate Florida obligations. We confirm any state-return scope during intake.

Does an extension give me more time to pay?

Generally, no. A filing extension does not extend the payment deadline. We review the applicable deadline and estimated payment needs for your circumstances.

Can you guarantee a refund or a particular result?

No. Your result depends on income, withholding, eligibility, records and applicable rules. We do not promise a refund amount, tax savings, agency acceptance or processing time.

Are CPA, enrolled-agent or attorney services included?

This page offers tax preparation and related support. It does not claim CPA, enrolled-agent or attorney credentials, audit/attestation services or unrestricted representation before the IRS. Any matter requiring a separately authorized professional must be handled within that professional’s scope.
